Thread: Short session timer

    Short session timer

Has there been a recent change (past few days) in how the forums or maybe how chrome handles the type of sessions used on these forums? My login session is being dropped quickly now when actively browsing the forums.

I haven't made any changes. Are you using Facebook Authentication or just normally logging in?

    not using facebook
Chrome made a major release, maybe they broke something
it's odd that it is dropping randomly, often quickly, on either mobile or desktop

A few times now I've had to log in to get to a page then log in again to post

Are cookies on for you? Chrome might have disabled them in an update and you have to turn them on for SOK.org ?

It looks like I broke it good. When trying to edit the post I just made in the diablo 3 forum in the 2.1 thread, it gave me the following message and I cannot edit it:
    Could not find phrase 'nopermission'

Go delete any of your SOK.org cookies that you have stored. One might have been corrupted.

I can only get a click or two in before I'm logged off and have to log in again. It happens on IE, Firefox, and Chrome. Clearing cache/cookies doesn't seem to help. Hmm.

I made a change to the cookie settings for the site. Delete the sok.org cookies you have and try again. If it doesnt working can you record a video for me of this? I am not finding any issues on the vbulletin forums to help me, so maybe seeing something will help.

I was having this same issue, could only get a few clicks in before being forced to log in again. One day I clicked the option for the site to remember me instead of logging in every visit. Have not had an issue since. :P
