Slow site and "waiting for www.wowhead.com"

Sometimes when this site is slow to respond, I see "waiting for www.wowhead.com" on the status bar. What is on the page that needs to wait for something from wowhead? And it happens every page, including the home page, so it's probably part of the frame.

We have a script that runs that allows us to link items from wowhead and it gives us a mouseover (like in the Epic Crafters Thread). We have the issue of it running slow when wowhead is down. Aalain disabled it for now.

I thought that's what it might be, and not something more sinister. I know enough about the internals of PHPBB to know it would be a bitch to make it load only if there actually is an item link in the post, so I won't ask.
